This year's CSI UAE Youth Movement Cricket tournament was hosted by the Youth movement of the CSI Parish (Malayalam) Dubai, under the leadership of the CSI UAE Youth Movement. CSI Parish Sharjah, who have now lifted the Cup four times, won by 22 runs. The match was played in the MCC Ground, Ajman.
The tournament started at 7 am with the opening prayer by Rev. Sunilraj Philip. The youth members of the parishes of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Jebel Ali and Sharjah along with the good crowd support from all the parishes actively participated in the tournament. The first round was a league stage match where every parish contested a thrilling 8 over match against each other. CSI Parish Sharjah Team led by Mathew Sasthamkoickal Mathew (in picture above) emerged as the winners and CSI Parish Abu Dhabi Team led by Tom Kuruvilla were the Runners up for the tournament.
CSI Parish (Malayalam) Dubai became the second runners up losing to CSI Parish Abu Dhabi. The Dubai Team comprised of Anil Abraham Jacob, Shelly George P, Kevin Koshy Joseph, Darvin K Baby, Arun John Thomas, Bibin Jacob Mathew, Terry Verghese Mathew, Titty Philip Mathew (Vice Captain), Sachin Saji Mathew, Sunny Job David (Captain), Amrith Koshy Eapen, Nirmal Jonas Manohar, Bejoy George, Binu Sam, Jacob Abraham Joe, Jacob P Baby, Joseph Thomas Callelil, and Rintu Philip George. Philip Chacko Jacob and Mathew Jacob were the Coaches. Shelly George was given the award for the Man of the Match for the match between CSI Parish (Malayalam) Dubai and Jebel Ali Parish for his all round performance.
Rev. Raju Jacob (Dubai), Rev. Sunilraj Philip (Sharjah), Rev. Charles M. Jeril (Jebel Ali) and Rev. Lalji M. Philip (Abu Dhabi) were present and gave necessary guidance for the tournament. The event was coordinated by Mr. Bibu Cherian (Convenor), and ended at 6 pm with the Award ceremony and closing prayer by Rev. Lalji M. Philip.
